Varsity Lanes / Spirits

Thanksgiving Eve at  the Varsity and not a bad turnout. I was a little disappointed to see that not only was the event not listed in the Kicks, but Cyndi & The Sensations were listed at Club Belwah. Signals crossed somewhere. Quite the family night, as my dad, sister Sheri and her husband, Willie, son Corey, and his girlfriend, Amanda all stopped out. All said, it was a good time and always nice to play in town.
We were in Bob’s backyard on Saturday for our debut at Spirits. A big thank you to Doug and Deb Brookins, who brought out a quite the crew. Nice place and a nice owner. Cyndi says we already have some return dates. A little problem with the sound at first, but we figured it out. Shawna Schultz was out and sat in on a couple. Our former soundman, Charlie Gallagher, came up an did “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”. And thank you’s to Nina, Arden, Bonnie, Earl, Laura, Stacy, Bob and Lisa for stopping out this holiday weekend.
An early one at Hammy’s this Friday, 7 – 11.. We have a private party on Saturday with Jason playing with us. The odd situation is that Gary already had a private party booked, and both bands will be in the same building! Jason will also be returning in December at Tremors on the 16th – 17th, as Gary will be in Texas. No Sandtrap jam this Sunday due to a 3:15 Packer game.
Stop out to Hammy’s (early) this Friday. We’ll see you there!

Tremors / Hammys / Sand Trap

Lots of playing this weekend and all good. Of course, it was “deer widow’s” weekend and we had a good turnout at Tremors. Everybody remembered the songs and the two nights went without a glitch. It felt good to be back playing with the band after the 2 week break. Although, I did a gig with the Gary McAdams band at the Waterfront in Delavan last Saturday with Gary, Shawna Schultz, Dave Hernandez, and Russ Doiel. Good time.
Saturday afternoon was the Jerry Dabson jam at Hammys. I had never met or played with the drummer (Kenny) or bass player (Diane) before. It’s always fun playing with guitar/harp master Steve Baker. Gary also stopped in a did a few tunes. Then it was back to Tremors to set my stuff back up. We had a better Saturday and still had a good crowd at closing time. Thanks to Matt Goodwin, “Big Mac” McKearn, and Jake, the fix-it man at Paradise Guitars, for stopping out.
We were back at the Sand Trap in Edgerton for the Sunday jam with Cary, Scott, and Kirk. Thanks to Cyndi and Matt for stopping out and sitting in. We’ll be back in two weeks with Cyndi.
No Cyndi & the Sensations at Belwah this Wednesday at the band will be playing at the Varsity Lanes in Milton from 8 – 12. We’ll be at Spirits this Saturday – 1st time. Stop out and say hello.
Also a special thanks to former member, Kurt Wheeler, who let me (again) borrow his Telecaster for the weekend.
Happy Thanksgiving and stop out to the Varsity on Wednesday. We’ll see you there!
